SOUTH BEND - Lester C. Kulp, 79, of 1014 S. 33rd St., died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in his home after an illness. Mr. Kulp retired in 1970 from Uniroyal Plastics Co., Mishawaka, after 28 years of service. He was born March 16, 1914, in Mishawaka and lived in area most of his life.

On Feb. 14, 1936, in South Bend, he married Frances B. Chamness. She died Nov. 28, 1991. He is survived by a daughter, Esther Pace of British Columbia; a son, Samuel of South Bend; two grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Claire of Mishawaka; and a brother, Rev. Maynard Kulp of Cottonwood, Ariz. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mishawaka.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
