Aug. 2, 1923 - April 5, 2006

Robert Kulwicki, 82, of West Lafayette, formerly of New Carlisle, passed away at 1:55 a.m., Wednesday, April 05, in Indiana Veteran's Home, West Lafayette, IN. Robert was born on August 2, 1923, in North Liberty to the late Sylvester and Verna (Barzensiak) Kulwicki. On Oct. 25, 1947, in South Bend, he married the former Evelyn Botka.

Bob is survived by his wife, Evelyn of New Carlisle; one daughter, Georgianne Schroeder of New Carlisle; three sons, Stephen (Stephanie) Kulwicki of LaPorte, Gregory (Lou Ann) Kulwicki of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jeffery (Vicki) Kulwicki of New Carlisle; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Adeline “Dolly” Bauters of Mishawaka, Theresa (Ted) Krzyzewski of North Liberty and Betty Johnson of North Liberty. He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild and two brothers, Eugene and Ernest.

Bob was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, where he acted as an usher. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was an honorary member of VFW Post 8748. He was an usher for Notre Dame Football and an avid NASCAR fan. He loved to fish and repair small engines and loved to garden.

Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m., today, April 7, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Saturday, April 8, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 55765 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, with one hour of visitation prior to Mass in the Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
