MISHAWAKA - Joseph W. ''Joe'' Kunce, 96, formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., died on Tuesday, May 26, in the Manor Care Nursing Center in Webster, Texas. He was a current resident of Houston, Texas.

Joe was born in Huntington, Ind., on Jan. 24, 1902, and had lived in this area until moving to Texas 42 years ago. He was employed at Uniroyal for 31 years.

On April 10, 1920, he married the former Malinda (Coil) in St. Joseph, Mich. She died on March 12, 1987. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, June Haesche of Connecticut in 1996; and by three sisters, Marie Christoph, Helen VanDewalle and Genevieve Baim.

Joe is survived by three daughters, Verna DeVreese and Norma Craft, both of Mishawaka, and Marie Donath of Houston; two sisters, Martha Nicolini of Mishawaka and Mabel Brubaker of Florida; and by 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to a Hospice of donor's choice.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 29, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
