Walter S. Kurlancki

SOUTH BEND - Walter S. Kurlancki, 84, of Silverbrook Manor, Niles, formerly of South Gladstone Street, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the nursing home. Mr. Kurlancki retired in 1974 as a production worker for South Bend Toy Co. He was born April 26, 1912, in Poland and lived in South Bend most of his life.

 

His wife, the former Velsia Jones, died Jan. 13, 1985. He is survived by a son, Chuck of Marcellus; a granddaughter, Shannan Lindzy of Mishawaka; two step-granddaughters; two step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Henrietta Wolak of South Bend and Lucy Barkala of New Jersey. He was a member of St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9820, American Legion Post 284 and Disabled American Veterans, and an Army veteran of World War II.

 

Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home.
