SOUTH BEND - Joan M. Kurzhals, 64, of
South St. Joseph Street, died at 6 p.m. Sunday in her home after
an illness. Miss Kurzhals retired in 1977 from the South Bend
Medical Foundation in the cytology department. She was born Aug.
2, 1929, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. She is
survived by her parents, Helen and Walter Kurzhals of South Bend;
and two brothers, Benny P. of Vandalia and Richard D. of Saranac,
Mich. She was a graduate of Ball State University and a member of
River Park United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in
Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Northern Indiana
Chapter, 3554 Wells St., Fort Wayne, Ind. 46808
