Joseph P. LaCluyse

Joseph P. LaCluyse, 85, of Hass Drive, South Bend, passed away at 5 a.m. Saturday in his residence, following an illness. He was born September 7, 1921, in Belgium to Triphon and Marie (Broeckevelt) LaCluyse. On June 29, 1947, in Mishawaka, he married the former Geraldine Healy. She survives, with son, Stephan L. (Debbie) LaCluyse of Granger, Indiana; three daughters, Sharon (Ronald) Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Susan (Robert) Hill of Shoreview, Minnesota and Linda (Alan) Trick of DePere, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Malena Neese; and a brother, Albert LaCluyse. Mr. LaCluyse was a Timekeeper for 47 years with RACO Industries, retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of World War II and he was a Charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 360, Mishawaka, the Postal Commemorative Society, Belgium Philatelic Society and the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mishawaka.

 

Funeral services for Mr. LaCluyse will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter Lutheran Church and burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may be received from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka. The family has asked that memorial contributions be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
