Paul J. Lacy

July 18, 1941 - March 24, 2001

Paul Joseph Lacy, 59, of Douglas Road, Mishawaka, Ind., died on Saturday, March 24, in his residence.

He was born on July 18, 1941, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Virginia Ruth (Stokes) and Joseph E. Lacy. Mr. Lacy was also preceded in death by a brother, Kermit Edward Lacy.

Mr. Lacy is survived by two sisters, Carol and Eleanor Lacy, both of South Bend; a brother, Jerry (Marcia) Lacy of South Bend; a nephew, Todd Lacy of Chicago, Ill.; a niece, Angela Kinas of South Bend; and by two grandnieces and four grandnephews.

Mr. Lacy was a math teacher at Washington High School, South Bend, and had been a teacher for 36 years. He received his B.A. degree from Goshen College, his master degree from I.U.S.B., and his master's +40 from the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of the National Education Association. He was a member of Lydick United Methodist Church where he was on the administrative board, was a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the choir for 40 years.

Memorial services for Mr. Lacy will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, in the Lydick United Methodist Church, 26510 W. Edison Road, South Bend. Rev. Kevin Buckley, pastor of the church, will conduct the memorial services. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place, with burial at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Ind., following the memorial service.

The Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.                                     

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Lydick United Methodist Church Faith Lift Fund, 26510 W. Edison Road, South Bend, IN 46628.
