Gertie Christine Lambert, 94, of Ridgedale Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Lambert was born on Feb. 3, 1902, in Hopkins County, Ky., and lived in South Bend most of her life.

In 1922, as Gertie Christine Weeks, she married Ezra R. Clayton, who preceded her in death in 1944. Gertie married Floyd Lambert in 1950, who also preceded her in death in December, 1966. Mrs. Lambert retired in 1965 from South Bend Community School Corp. as a cafeteria cook. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the Peoples Church, South Bend.

She is survived by a son, Carl M. Clayton of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Troy Clayton of Houston, Texas, and Kathi Clayton of Jackson, Miss. A sister, Agusta Hillyard of Niles, Mich.; and a brother, James Weeks of Nashville, Tenn.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home
