Henry Lawshea

Feb. 2, 1927 - Oct. 14, 2000

Mr. Henry Lawshea, 73, residence of Chapman Lane in Columbia, Tenn., and a long time resident of South Bend, Ind., died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at NHC Columbia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with Rev. Anthony Paschall, Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Williams Columbia Funeral Home.

He was a native of Blytheville, Ark., the son of the late Frank and Kate (Sanders) Lawshea. He was the husband of Aleatha (Burris) Lawshea. He was a retired custodian of the school system of South Bend, Ind.

Survivors is addition to his wife include three sons, Floyd (Toni) Lawshea of Columbia, Tony Lawshea of Mitchells, Va., and Gordon Lawshea of Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Lois Lawshea of Nashville, Genny (Bob) Minnix of Tallahassee, Fla., and Connie Parker of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister, Rose Carter of Blytheville, Ark.; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Martha, and Katie; and four brothers, Joe, Eddie, Frank, and Willie.

Pallbearers will be Frank Taylor, Charles Walker, Zollie Burris, Rufus Lawshea, Michael Newburn and Don Edwards.
