SOUTH BEND - Joshua D. Lawson, 18, of South Bend, passed away Friday morning, September 19, 2008, in his home. He was born on December 14, 1989, in South Bend, IN, and had lived here all of his life. He was raised by his grandparents, Raymond and Phyllis Lawson. He is survived by his grandmother, Phyllis J. Lawson; his mother, Colleen Grenert of South Bend; two stepsisters, Melinda (Robert) Miller of Edwardsburg and Melody (Kenneth) Callahan of Plymouth; two brothers, Robert Peglow and Anthony Grenert, both of South Bend; two stepbrothers, Donald Lawson and Richard (Nancy) Lawson, both of Mishawaka; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special aunt, Pat Bickel of South Bend. His grandfather, Raymond Lawson, and a sister, Judith Hagen, both preceded him in death. Joshua graduated from John Adams High School this year. He liked computers and rap music. He spent his time talking to friends online and enjoyed writing hip-hop songs. He aspired to being a famous rapper.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until time of services on Tuesday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Joshua Lawson may be made to the Logan Center, 2505 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615, for the handicapped.
