, 67, 301 E. Homer, died at his home at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, following a six week illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stanislaus church with Rev. Julian Doktor officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus cemetery. Friends may call at the Root funeral home Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday until the hour of the service. The rosary will be recited at the Root chapel at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Richard Urban, Joseph Pawloski, Raymond Losiniecki, Casimir Novak, Ray Sobecki and Ross Lamatina. Mr. Layman, a machinist at Pullman Standard Car Mfg. Co. for 41 years had been a resident of the city for 43 years. He was born July 18, 1873, in Rolling Prairie, the son of Michael and Josephine (Jurjonski) Layman. On June 11, 1907, In Rolling Prairie, he married Josephine Wroblewski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lottie Kucharski, a son Leonard Layman, two grandchildren - Jerome and Eugene Jucharski, and a brother, Louis Layman, this city, and five sisters - Mrs. Pauline Klosinski, Mrs. Alex Urban, Mrs. Harry Barts, South Bend; Mrs. Neil Jepson, Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Agnes Hushover, Buchanan. The deceased was a member of St. Stanislaus church and the B.R.C.A. No. 290.
