Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Layman, 73, 301 E. Homer St., who died yesterday at noon, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Stanislaus Church. Mrs. Layman passed away at St. Anthony Hospital after an illness of three weeks. The very Rev. Msgr. Julian Doktor will officiate and burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Root Funeral Home Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday and Tuesday until the time of the funeral. Mrs. Layman was born in Posen, Germany, on Oct. 5, 1882, to John and Catherine (Komasinski) Wroblewski. She was married to Jacob Layman in Rolling Prairie on June 11, 1907. Mrs. Layman had been a resident of this city for 44 years. She is survived by two children -  Leonard Layman and Mrs. Lottie Novak, both of Michigan City; four brothers and sisters - Mrs. John Sobolowski and John Komasinski, both of Poland; Mrs. Frances Matecki, Dunkirk, N.Y., and Mrs. Michael Malak, Salamenc, N.Y., and two grandchildren. Mrs. Layman was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Sacred Heart Society. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Root Funeral Home.
