Rex Leamon

Sept. 17, 1932 - April 20, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Rex Leamon, 77, passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side on April 20, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tommie Ann Leamon; sons, John and Jim Leamon of Richmond, Indiana; brothers, Kermit (Chris) and Ken (Sharon) Leamon of Goshen and South Bend, Indiana; two sisters, Judy (Jerry) Casselman of Decatur, Indiana, and Joyce (Bill) Gilbert of WaWaka, Indiana; stepchildren, Kathleen (David) Overton, Steve, David (Darlene), Jim (Janet) and Brett. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dorothy and Terral Leamon, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Leamon, and his brother, Ray Leamon. Rex was a master sergeant and served during the Korean War. He retired from Auto Owners Insurance Co. in 1994 and had lived on Lake Tansi since that time. He was a great friend to all, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed volunteer work. Rex will truly be missed by all who knew him. Visitation with family will be at noon on May 15, 2010, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with memorial service following at 1 p.m. which will be officiated by Rev. Scott Johnson, the pastor of Lake Tansi Church of Grace. Afterwards a celebration of Rex's life will be held at Mitch's Restaurant in Lake Tansi from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Hospice of Cumberland County or to the American Cancer Society .
