Chester D. LeFavour

August 4, 1891 - November 13, 1961

 

LeFavour Succumbs at Age of 70

 

Chester D. LeFavour, 1510 Sunnymede Ave., a representative of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of New York for 38 years, died at 2:45am today in St Joseph’s Hospital.  He had been ill a week.

 

Born on August 4, 1891, in Van Buren IN, LeFavour had lived in South Bend 32 years, coming here from Fort Wayne where he became associated with Equitable in 1923.  He was a member of the Million Dollar Club of the insurance industry.

 

LeFavour also was a member of the First Christian Church; Maumee Lodge 725, F& A.M. of Fort Wayne; the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of South Bend; Oak Shrine, Hammond, and the South Bend Shrine Club.

On June 30, 1925, in Marion, LeFavour married Melina Theibert.  She survives with a son, Robert J. of Atlanta GA; two grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Losure of Columbia City IN, Mrs. William Cox of Casey IL, and Mrs. Russell Hess of Mounds OK.
