Feb. 14, 1908 - April 9, 1999

Maynard Keith Lehman, 91, of Homewood Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, April 9, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, Ind.

Maynard was born on February 14, 1908 in Nappanee, Ind., to the late Joseph M. And Nettie May (Roose) Lehman. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Zae Haney, Vida Hulick, and Hilda Schultz; and by two brothers, Dale and Dean Lehman.

On September 27, 1936 in Wakarusa, Maynard married Lillian Marie Lehman. His dear wife of 62 years preceded him in death on March 29, 1999.

He is survived by three daughters, Carole Vendrick of San Jose, Calif., Peg Nelson of Sante Fe, N.M., and Dale Shafer of Alamo, Texas; eight grandchildren; and by nine great grandchildren.

Maynard retired in 1970 from Uniroyal, Inc. after 27 years of service as a color controller. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class on LST 929 in the Pacific Theater.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the Lehman family one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.
