Bernadette Lenhard

Sept. 21, 1916-Sept. 18, 1994

MISHAWAKA - Bernadette Lenhard, 77, of Miami Club Drive, died at 9:18 p.m. Saturday in the home of her daughter in Dayton, Ohio, after an illness. Mrs. Lenhard was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident. On June 26, 1940, in Mishawaka, as Bernadette Schumacher, she married Alden E. Lenhard. He died Jan. 21, 1974. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Benington of Dayton, and Mary Kay Farver of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Regis Schumacher of South Bend. She was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Theresians, Secular Order of St. Francis, and was a charter member of Hospice Volunteers of St. Joseph County Inc.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
