Richard W. Lennox

SOUTH BEND - Richard W. Lennox, 74, of California Avenue, died of natural causes at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lennox retired from his position as purchasing agent for South Bend Supply Co. after 36 years service.

He was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Flint, Mich., and lived in this area since 1950. On Dec. 9, 1949, in Edwardsburg, he married Laura Westfall. She preceded him in death. On Aug. 4, 1973, in South Bend, he married Bobbie Easton. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mary Jo Ames and Lori Lombardi, both of Mishawaka, and Marcia Durnall of Springfield, Mo.; two sons, John A. of Plymouth and James W. of Mill Creek; two stepdaughters, Michelle Easton of Bellflower, Calif., and Shannon Easton of South Bend; a stepson, Larry Easton of South Bend; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the REACT Program with Civil Defense and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36 and was active in the Boy Scouts of America.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Cremation will take place. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday until time of services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
