Teresa Maria Linarello

SOUTH BEND — Teresa Maria Linarello, 88, of East McKinley Avenue, passed away of an illness at 8:45 p.m. on Monday, June 3, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, with her loved ones by her side. Teresa was born on Dec. 5, 1913, in Gioiosa, Jonica, Italy, to the late Fransesco and Maria Sabatino.

 

She lived in South Bend, Ind., for 64 years, coming from New Castle, Pa., where on Aug. 18, 1938, she married Rocco C. Linarello, who passed away on March 31, 1983. Mrs. Linarello is survived by her daughter, Norma Jean (Ralph) Villanucci of Granger, Ind.; her two sons, Carman John (Janice) Linarello and Frank Nicholas (Barbara) Linarello, both of South Bend; six grandchildren, Laura Olivera, Gina Nurenburg, Denise Wesolowski, David Linarello, Leslie McCurdy and Nick Linarello; her three great- grandchildren, Brian, Michael and Daniel Wesolowski; and by many nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Rite of Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame, with Rev. Peter Rocca, CSC, officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Mausoleum. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend, where the Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m.

 

Mrs. Linarello was a member of the St. Joseph Church Altar Society, and was a frequent volunteer and eucharistic minister at Cardinal Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
