SOUTH BEND – Carl D. Lindzy, 64, of 817 S. 27th Street, died at 2:02 a.m. in Mercy Hospital, Rantoul, Ill. He retired from Bendix Corp. in 1980. Born on Feb. 23, 1920 in Akron, Ind., he had lived in South Bend most of his life.

 

On Aug. 19, 1944, in Mishawaka, he married Dorothy Vanderbosch, who survives. He is also survived by his mother Elsie Lindzy of Mishawaka; a daughter, Mary Beth Fleming of South Bend; two sons, Thomas of Rantoul, and James of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Sargent and Joyce Marchent, both of Mishawaka, and Wanda Roth of Edwardsburg, and a brother Charles of South Bend.

 

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony de Pauda Catholic Church, and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friend may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday. He was a mamber of the church, Bendix Senior Management Club and National Management Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Memorial contribution may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
