Russell P. Lippert: (South Bend Tribune 2/25/1947)


Russell Peter Lippert, aged 57, of 222 East Grove street, who served in the Canadian army for two years during world war I, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph hospital where he had been confined for the last 10 days. He had been in failing health for two years. Mr. Lippert was born Nov. 1, 1889 in South Bend and moved here from that city 13 years ago. He was employed at the Studebaker corporation plant in South Bend. He married Miss Josie Fisher in South Bend, Nov. 25, 1925. Besides the widow Mr. Lippert is survived by his mother, Mrs. Emma Lippert, South Bend; a son, Glenn W. Lippert, Roseland, this county; a foster daughter, Mrs. Clara A. Smith, South Bend; two brothers, George Lippert, New York, N.Y., and Clem Lippert, Gulliver, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Martha Morgan, South Bend, and two grandchildren. Friends may call at the Bubb chapel after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Monica’s Catholic church with Rev. Anthony Badina officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery, South Bend.
