Thomas J. Lorman

GRANGER - Thomas J. "Tom" Lorman, 53, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday in his home. He was born May 16, 1956, in Geneva, IL, to the late James P. and Willamae "Billie" (Anderson) Lorman. He was retired from Value City Furniture as a sales representative, was a member of the American Legion and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, working on cars, and cutting wood for his wood-burning stove. On June 19, 1998, in Wetumpka, Alabama, he married Maureen P. Medlen, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, T.J. (Chrmane) Lorman of Elkhart, Tyler Lorman and Dustin Lorman, both of Granger; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Tim (Michelle) Lorman of West Chicago, IL, and Jim Lorman of Iowa City, Iowa. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today (March 18, 2010) in American Legion Post #161, 133 E. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, IN. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Glen Oak Cemetery, West Chicago, IL. Elkhart Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation services. Memorials may be made to The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care or to the American Cancer Society .
