Mary Lott

Mary Lott, 89, of North Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes on Monday afternoon, March 6, in her home. She was born on Jan. 28, 1911, in South Bend, the daughter of Alex and Theresa (Szalay) Kovacsics. She was a member of the St. Joseph Parish, the Altar Society, and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary.

 

On Sept. 14, 1945, in South Bend, she married Alex L. Lott, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995. She retired from the University of Notre Dame's Foundation Department in 1986. She is survived by two children: a daughter, Karen Arens of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and a son, Robert A. Lott and his wife, Kathleen of Palatine, Ill.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Toth and Marge Beres; and by a brother, Alex Kovacsics, all of South Bend.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Mathews, CSC, associate pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the McGann Funeral Home, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road. Entombment will be in the Highland Cemetery Mausoleum.
