Irene H. Lubelski

SOUTH BEND - Irene H. Lubelski, 86, passed away on Sunday, November 2 at 9:25 p.m. in Country Care West, South Bend. Irene was born October 31, 1922 in Poland to the late Alex and Louise (Polak) Ilczak. On January 17, 1942, she married Bill Lubelski at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. He passed away on January 9, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Harriet Matusiak and Chesterine Zdoniak. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Joseph) Bognar of South Bend; four grandchildren, Laura (Tim) Ciesialka of South Bend, Daniel Bognar of South Bend, Julie Bognar of South Bend and Lisa Bognar of Mishawaka; and by two great-grandchildren, Alex and Timmy Ciesialka. She was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and the Polish Women's Alliance, and was a cash office manager for Montgomery wards, where she retired from in 1990. She previously worked at Goldblatts for many years. Busia will be remembered for being a terrific cook. She was one who loved to figure out any kind of gadgets. She was especially proud of the house she and her husband designed and built and lived in for nearly 60 years. But most of all she will be remembered for her generosity and great love for her family. Busia we "love you more"! A special thank you to Vel and her family for the wonderful care they provided to Irene.

 

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 5 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Viewing will also be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday in St. Adalbert Catholic church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
