Gizella Lucchi

Gizella "Gay" Lucchi, 78, of Milburn Boulevard, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, in the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Ind.

 

Mrs. Lucchi was born on April 18, 1921, in South Bend, Ind., as the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Sucz) Vargo. She was a lifetime area resident.

 

On Jan. 21, 1943, in South Bend, as the former Gizella Vargo, she married Americo "Lucky" Lucchi. Mrs. Lucchi is survived by her husband, "Lucky" of 58 years. She is also survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Robert) Dygulski of Granger, Ind.; two sons, Tom Lucchi of Mishawaka and John (Cathy) Lucchi of Chandler, Ariz.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Ethel "Penny" (Henry) Sieczko of Mishawaka.

 

Mrs. Lucchi was employed by the former Uniroyal, Mishawaka, for 15 years. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, was a member of St. Monica's Rosary Society, and was president of the Legion of Mary.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 24, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, in St. Monica's Catholic Church.
