Fred W. Lutz

Oct. 14, 1934 - Jan. 16, 1999

Fred W. Lutz, 64, of East McKinley Highway, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 1:26 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, following heart failure while ice fishing.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1934, in South Bend, to Evangeline and Fred Lutz. They both preceded him in death.

On Aug. 27, 1954, he married the former Marilyn Futter in South Bend. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Stephen Bryan (Sheri) Lutz of South Bend and David Eugene (Lyn) Lutz of Powell, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris Lutz, age 24, Erik Lutz, age 18, Melody Lutz, age 16, and Bryan Lutz, age 13; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Reagan Kay Lutz; two sisters, Mary Jane Langel of Mishawaka and Sarah K. Seifer of Granger, Ind.; and by a brother, Thomas Phillip Lutz of Fresno, Calif.

Mr. Lutz was retired from Uniroyal Corporation in 1985 as the chief industrial engineer. Among his hobbies were fishing, golf, trap-shooting, fixing things and spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the Uniroyal Management Club and the ABC Bowling League.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Officiating will be Pastor John Hall of Willow Creek United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Willow Creek United Methodist Church.
