William A. MacDonald

SOUTH BEND - William A. MacDonald, 76, of Woldhaven Street, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. MacDonald was a journeyman toolmaker and retired in 1981 from Torrington Co. after 30 years. He was born May 8, 1917, in Pocatello, Idaho.

 

On May 30, 1941, in South Bend, he married Ruth Edgerton. She survives with three sisters, Alberta Milcarek, Mildred Seall and Patricia Kroger, all of South Bend; and a brother, Winfield of South Bend. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Eagles Lodge of Mishawaka, Bowlers Country Club of South Bend and a member of St. Matthew Cathedral.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of South Bend.
