Eldon C. Macht

Eldon C. Macht, 61, residing on East Wayne Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:35 a.m. Monday, March 15, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was employed for the past three years with Holbert Engineering as a tool-and-die designer and had previously worked for Huckins Tool and Die and United Tool and Die. Mr. Macht was born on June 23, 1942, in South Bend, to Lawrence and Armilda (Babcock) Macht, and had lived in this area most of his life.

 

Mr. Macht is survived by his companion and fiancé, Donna Lamborn of South Bend; two sons, Eric (Sue) Macht and Darren (Rebecca) Macht, both of South Bend; two grandsons, Nathan and Kyle; one sister, Marilyn (Bill) Wagley of South Bend; three nieces and nephews; and by seven great-nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Macht graduated from Washington-Clay High School, South Bend. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard and received an honorable discharge in December 1969. Mr. Macht was a longtime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, South Bend, where he served as a trustee and council member.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 915 N. Ironwood, South Bend, IN 46615. Dr. William Wassner, pastor of the church, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, and in church on Friday one hour prior to services. Contributions in memory of Eldon C. Macht may be made to the St. Peter's United Church of Christ Building Fund.
