MISHAWAKA - Paul A. Macri, 81, of West Ninth Street, died about 5:30 a.m. today in his home. He was owner of Macri’s Villa until 1977, and was employed by Michiana Wholesale in Mishawaka. He was born Oct. 24, 1909 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, and lived in Mishawaka since 1921, coming from Italy.

 

On Jan. 27, 1934, in Mishawaka, he married Rose Mary Jane Alo. She survives with two daughters, Marie Macri of South Bend and Sandra Pilat of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Paul A. M.D., and James V. D.D.S., both of South Bend; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Agostino of Indianapolis and Ida DeBlase of South Bend; and two brothers, Joe and John, both of Indianapolis. He was a member of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and an usher for the University of Notre Dame.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 5:30 and 7:30 to 9 Friday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospital Oncology Unit.
