Harry J. Madura

July 20, 1945 - June 23, 1996

Mr. Harry J. Madura unexpectedly died from natural causes on June 23. Mr. Madura was born in Chicago, in 1945, moved to New Carlisle then to South Bend, Mishawaka area. He attended Adams High School and received an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces. He retired from Milady Shop after 20 years as Art Director and Visual merchandiser in 1988. Mr. Madura then became President and owner of Durawood Design, Inc. Mr. Madura was an area musician for many years and was also a member of the musicians union.

 

Surviving Mr. Madura is Mary Kacarab, three brothers, Sam Madura of Bloomington, Ind. Tom Madura of Dover, Del., Rich Madura of Los Angeles, Calif., two sisters Carolyn Gourmly of Laurel, Md. and Jeanne Canfield, Portland, Ore. He attended Queen of Peace, Catholic Church.

 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Hickey Funeral Homes, 3516 E. Jefferson, and a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. There will be a Funeral Mass Thursday at 10 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Rd. Mishawaka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
