April 17, 1917 - June 18, 1998

Anna Blondeel Maenhout, 81, of Bohlsen Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, in the St. Joseph Medical Center.

Anna was born on April 17, 1917, in South Bend, Ind., to Emery and Mary (Pulma) Takacs, who have both preceded her in death. Anna was also preceded in death by several loving sisters and brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Reid of South Bend and Shirley McQueary of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Connie Boyd, Barbie Wallace and Debbie Young, all of Mishawaka, David Reid of South Bend and Jamie McQueary of Michigan; seven great-grandchildren, Andy Boyd, Bradley Boyd, Brittany Wallace, Brooke Wallace, Allison Young and Austin Young, all of Mishawaka, and Joshua Kroski of Michigan; and by three beloved sisters.

Anna had been employed for 15 years in the 1950s and `60s at the former Ball Band in Mishawaka, working in the boot department.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 22, in the funeral home, with Rev. L. Odene Wampler officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
