Elsie L. Maenhout

Elsie L. Maenhout, 91, formerly of West 7th Street, Mishawaka, passed away December 3, 2005, in Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart, after a long illness.

Elsie was born on February 26, 1914, in Mishawaka as the daughter of the late Achiele and Mary (Byl) Van Bruaene. On January 20, 1940, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka as Elsie she married Julius "Speedy" Maenhout.

Elsie is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Julius "Speedy"; one daughter, Shirley (Craig) Deitchley of Greenville, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Jill (Scott) Parsons of Greenville, S.C.; two great-granddaughters, Abby and Kelsey Parsons; two sisters, Georgene Bieganski and Darlene Kasznia, both of Mishawaka; and one brother, Maurice Van Bruaene of Granger.

Elsie was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Van Bruaene; and one sister, Evelyn Crofoot.

Elsie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Bavo's Church and the BK Club Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday December 6, at 11:30 a.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England, Pastor of St. Bavo's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery Mishawaka. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
