William Wilbur Magee

William Wilber Magee, 73, of Baton Rouge, La., formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 8:25 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30 in Baton Rouge. Mr. Magee was born in Mishawaka, Ind., on Oct. 17, 1926 to Henry K. and Birtha Magee. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marcel J. Buysse. William Magee, a retired mechanical engineer, graduated from Tri State University in 1959. He was also a World War II Navy veteran of the Pacific Theater of Operations and a member of the Mishawaka Post 360 V.F.W.

 

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Josephine H. (Koontz), a daughter, Martha K. (Magee), and son-in-law, Dean R. Keeler. Other surviving relatives include two granddaughters, Candace K. and Elizabeth Jo Keeler, and by a sister, Marion Simmons of Lakeland, Fla.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4 in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, located at 435 S. Ironwood. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
