Sister Redempta Mahar CSC

Sister Redempta, whose worldly name was Mary Mahar, died at St. Mary’s Academy this morning, after an illness of nearly a year. She was born in Mass. in 1854. In 1874 she entered St. Mary’s Academy and after four years of training she took the vows of sisterhood. She later went to New York, where she taught until a year ago whe she returned to the academy on account of ill health. She had suffered a stroke of paralysis.

 

Services will be tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in the cemetery at St. Mary’s.

 

Editor: What is referred to in this obituary as St. Mary’s Academy is the same as St. Mary’s College.
