Kenneth Dale Maier, 74, of Cherry Road, Granger, died at 7:43 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Maier was born on May 31, 1922 to Albert and Ida Maier in Bremen, Ind., who preceded him in death.

On April 26, 1947, he married Helen Lorraine Morrison in Mishawaka. She died July 22, 1988.

He was a machinist for Wheelabrator-Frye Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1977.

Surviving are four daughters, Eileen (Ray) Devore of Beecher City, Ill., Judy (Dana) VanValin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Peggy (Kurt) Cruickshank of Sturgis, S.D., Kathleen (Tom) Smith of Elkhart and Sheree (Gary) Stevenson of Niles, Mich; two sons, Ronald Maier of Chicago and Harold (Kristine) Maier of Granger. Also surviving is one sister, Florence Gardner of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren; Joyce, Sharon, Brett, Brier, Wesley, Shawn, Rebecca, Adam, Jason, Nicholas and Luke; four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ryan, Lisa and Alex.
