James J. Majerski

SOUTH BEND - James J. Majerski, formerly of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Tampa, Florida. He was born to the late Jacob and Eva (Cesarz) Majerski in Chicago, IL. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Majer and Ruth Powell. Jim was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Pat) Meredith of Texas; his son, James Woods of Florida; his ex-wife, Evelyn (Wrzesien) Majerski of Texas; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Locally he is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Couture of Mishawaka; nieces, Colette Couture of South Bend and Dr. Madeline (Mark) Lewis of Granger; and nephews, Robert (April) Couture of Mishawaka and Stephen (Sharon) Couture of South Bend. There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be said for Jim at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 13, 2010, in the Log Chapel on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
