Rose H. Toth Major, 94, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, in the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend.

She is survived by a son, Louis M. (Alice) Toth of Livonia, Mich.; a daughter, Erma R. (John) Gassensmith of South Bend; six grandchildren, Michael Toth, Daniel (Janice) Toth, Paul (Patricia) Toth, David (Laura) Toth, Robert Gassensmith, Nancy (James) Kieft; and by eight great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Kristin Hansen, Alexandra, Merideth, Madison, Garrett, Rachel and Casey Toth. Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis B. Toth; her second husband, Louis Major; and by a great-grandson, Colin Toth.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Rose will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, in the Memorial Presbyterian Church. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is handling her arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
