Sister Mary Lumen CSC, 76, of St. Mary’s Convent, died Wednesday afternoon in the convent, after a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 15, 1898 in Gas City, Ind. as Clara Leona Malay, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross Aug. 15, 1915. She taught in St. Patrick’s and Holy Cross elementary schools in South Bend, She also taught in Elkhart, East Chicago, and Michigan, Illinois, California and Nebraska.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call today and Friday in the convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.
