SOUTH BEND - Brother Borromeo (Thomas) Malley, CSC, 81, of Holy Cross House, died Tuesday in Holy Cross House. He was born Jan. 14, 1913 in Chicago, and lived at Holy Cross House from 1989 to 1994.

 

Brother Malley entered the Congregation of Holy Cross on Feb. 2, 1933. Surviving are his twin sister, a Sister Carol Marie Malley, a Sister of St. Agnes, of Fond du Lac, Wis. He served at Sacred Heart College, Watertown, Wis., and at the University of Portland in Oregon between 1933 and 1937.

 

From 1937 until 1978, he served as superintendent of the Power Plant and Utilities at Notre Dame. From 1939 to 1989, he was chief of the Notre Dame Fire Department.

 

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Basilica. Burial will follow in the community cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Moreau Seminary Chapel, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
