MISHAWAKA - Gloria D. Nelson Mammon, 86, of Townhouse East, Mishawaka, died Saturday morning, Oct. 11, in her home. Gloria was born February 7, 1922, in Chicago, to Arthur and Evelyn (Soderstrom) Kerr. On March 2, 1942, in Las Vegas, she married George F. Nelson, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1973. She was also preceded by a sister, Shirley A. Stertz-Mallard. Surviving are two daughters, Gaelyn K. Kleeman of Indianapolis and Gretel L. Buti of South Bend; three sons, Gerald J. of Sturgis, Glenn A. and George F., both of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Edna Mae Miller of Balaton, MN. Gloria was a lady who loved traveling throughout the United States with her pets. She spent winters in her home in Mesa, AZ. She loved the great outdoors, and spent many summers in Big Sky country on Flat Head Lake near Kalispell, Montana. Activities she enjoyed most were "SHOPPING," watching sports, talking politics, reading, and collecting dishes. Leaving her family with lots of favorite memories, she will be missed; and for those who knew her best, she'll surely be found at the biggest mall in the sky!!
