Samuel Franklin Mangus, who lived with his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Sheets, at 56996 Beach Rd., Osceola, died at 6 a.m. today in the residence. He was born in St. Joseph County, Ind., on Aug.12, 1873, and had lived in this area all his life. On April 8, 1903, in St. Joseph County, he married Maude Ethel Brown, who died in May, 1959. Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Esther Harmon and Mrs. Gertrude Haubitzel, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Asa Mangus of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. George Holston of Kokomo. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home. Mr. Mangus was a member of the Monson Chapel Methodist Church.
