Oscar S. Mann

March 2, 1911December 2, 1985

 

Oscar S. Mann, 74, of 230 E Ninth St., died about 3:25pm Monday in St Joseph Hospital after an illness.  He was a Mishawaka policeman for 21 years before retiring in 1958.  He then worked as a security guard at First National Bank in Mishawaka before retiring in 1974.

 

Mr. Mann was born March 2, 1911, in Benton County IN and had lived in the area since coming from West Lafayette IN in 1929.  On June 6, 1936, he married the former Edith R. Snyder in Plymouth.  She survives with five daughters, Doris J. Martin of Delran JH, Mary Ellen Hochstetler, Judith Ann Fleck, Diane Lynn Dahlin and Linda Lou Richards, all of Mishawaka; three sons, Charles N. Mann and Robert E. Mann, both of Mishawaka and Paul W. Mann of Center Point IA; 20 grandchildren; a great grandchild; and two brothers, Albert C. Mann of Encinitas CA and Charles W. Mann of Van Nuys CA.

 

Services will be at 1pm Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the funeral home.  Mr. Mann was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Mishawaka Lodge 91.
