SOUTH BEND - Dorothy R. Manuwal, 74,
of East Ewing Avenue, died at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial
Hospital. Mrs. Manuwal retired in 1983 as a teacher from South
Bend Community School Corp. after 38 years of service. She was
born July 7, 1921, in Sterling, Ky.
On Feb. 11, 1961, in South Bend, as Dorothy
Clark-Pete, she married Arnold H. Manuwal. He survives
with a son, Robert Pate of Osceola; a stepson, Dr. David Manuwal
of Seattle; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lydia Fillipelli of
South Bend and Helen Robertson of North Liberty; and three
brothers, David Clark of Valdosta, Ga., Carl Clark of St.
Worth, Texas, and Sherman Clark of South Bend. She was a member
of Calvary Temple.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the
church. Burial will be in New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in
Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
