Mishawaka - Antonio “Tony” Marando, 76, of 908 N. Sarah St., died at 10:46 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a lengthy illness.

 

He was born on Dec. 24, 1904, in Plati, Italy, and came here from Italy in 1921. He was retired from Drewry’s Ltd. In South Bend.

 

On Sept. 9, 1934 in Mishawaka, he married Mary Perri, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kay Catanzarite of Mishawaka; two sons, Don of Reseda, Calif., and Joe of Crown Point; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph of Plati.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. in St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Rev. Thaddeus Kwak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.

 

He was a member of the church and the DeAmicis Club and a founder of the Diloreto Club.
