Don Marchand, age 80, of East Avenue in Mishawaka, passed away Friday, January 4, 2002 in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in South Bend. Mr. Marchand was born November 6, 1921 to Charles and Esel (Roby) Marchand in Monon, Indiana.

On August 7, 1948, Don married the former Ms. Bonnie J. Shaw. She preceded him in death passing away June 27, 2000. Surviving are his 4 sons; James L. Marchand and his wife Glenda of Osceola, Jon L. Marchand and his wife Lori of Mishawaka, Joseph L. Marchand and his wife Tina of Pierceton, Indiana, and Jeffery L. Marchand of Mishawaka. Also surviving are his brothers, Leon of South Bend, Bill and Gene both of Delphi, Indiana, as well as his sisters, Violet of Francisville, and Bee of Rossville , 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Marchand in death is his son, Jeryld L. Marchand; brothers Fred, Russell, and Bob and sisters Evelyn and Ruth Ann.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2002 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2002 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Marchand served his country honorably, enlisting in the US Army. He was discharged in 1946.

Mr. Marchand was employed by the Bendix Corporation as an electrician for over 16 years, retiring 11 years ago.
