Hazel Zeiger Marks, 101, died Thursday, Jan. 23, in Healthwin Nursing Home.

 

She was born Nov. 24, 1895, in St. Joseph County, Ind., and lived here all of her life.

She was a member of the Alleluia Christian Lutheran Church in Mishawaka, Ind., and was a guide for the Northern Indiana Center of the Blind. She was formerly employed by the Wells Manufacturing Company.

 

On Sept. 14, 1916, as Hazel Drake, she married William Zeiger, who preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1949. On June 26, 1954, she married Frank Marks, who preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1956.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Goheen of South Bend and Lucille Sparks of Sullivan, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

 

A daughter, Mary Hathaway, and a stepson, Marvin Zeiger, also preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, at Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Ronald Seitz officiating. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
