Angiolina Marroni

SOUTH BEND - Angiolina Marroni, 90, of Lennox Avenue, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday in her home after an illness.

 

Mrs. Marroni was born March 1, 1905, in Fossacesia, Italy.

 

On Nov. 23, 1923, in New York City, as Angiolina Valente, she married Donato Marroni. He died Aug. 16, 1968.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Mary J. Marroni of Richmond, Ind., Rose A. Edstrom of South Bend and Helen E. Counts of Florida; two sons, Bert of Lakeville and John of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Antonette Dersos of Fossacesia.

 

She was preceded in death by two daughters: Yolanda T. Retek, who died in 1989, and Julia A. Hoffman, who died in 1984.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Hanley & Sons Funeral Home, where there will be a vigil service at 4 p.m.
