SOUTH BEND - Mary J. Marroni, 80, of Plymouth, IN, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, in the Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Center, Plymouth, after an extended illness. Mary was born on August 2, 1928, in South Bend, and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area. Mary is survived by sisters, Rose A. (Kenneth) Edstrom of Granger and Helen E. (Edwin) Counts of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Bert N. Marroni of Lakeville, IN, and John N. (Betty) Marroni of South Bend. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Yolanda T. Retek and Julia A. Hoffman Mary was deeply loved by her loving family who were at her bedside when she went to be with the Lord.

 

The family request that, in lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to Pet Refuge or to the charity of the donor's choice. A private visitation and services will be held today in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home. Fr. Bill Kummer will officiate, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Marroni family.
