 Clement E. Martin

July 23, 1915 - March 4, 1996

 SOUTH BEND – Clement Ernest Martin, 80, of Prast Boulevard, died early Monday morning at Marriott Residence Inn, Blue Ash OH, of an apparent heart attack.  Mr. Martin retired in 1982, as a field engineer for Kawneer Co.

 He was born July 23, 1915, in New Haven IN, and had lived in South Bend since 1953. On June 22, 1940, in Fort Wayne, he married Mildred E. Pfeiffer.  She survives with a daughter, Martha E. Funk of Cincinnati; two sons, James E. of Charleston SC and Glen E. of Longwood FL; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Linder and Marie Bushman, both of Fort Warne.

 He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church Harvest House, Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council 553, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 58, St John’s Retirees; Usher’s Club, Rosary Makers, Living Rosary Group, Medjugorje Prayer Group and was a member of St John’s User Club for 27 years.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Army Reserves.

Services will be at 10am on Friday at ST John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Thursday at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive where a parish wake service will be held at 3:30pm Thursday and a rosary at 7pm led by St John’s Retirees Club, Usher’s Club, Rosary Makers, Living Rosary Group, and Medjugorje Prayer Group.
