Elizabeth B. Martin (Sept. 18, 1925 -- Nov. 22, 2006)

Elizabeth B. Martin, 81, of Rochester, Indiana, died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in her home.

She was born September 18, 1925, in South Bend, Indiana, to Joseph and Frances Molnar Farkas. Elizabeth had lived in Rochester since 1981. She graduated from Washington High School, South Bend, and attended Indiana University South Bend. In South Bend, on July 31, 1948, she married George Frank "Buzz" Martin.

Elizabeth retired in 1981 after 18 years as a para-professional with the South Bend Community School System. She worked at the Logan Center in the special education department. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Friends of the Library, and was an RSVP volunteer.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara A. Martin of Rochester; a son, James F. Martin of Rochester; and nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, her sister, Helen Horvath, and two brothers, Michael and Joseph Farkas, preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 25, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1310 Main Street, Rochester, IN, with Father Joe Jacob officiating. Burial will occur at noon Saturday at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Public Library and to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
