Florence Chandler Martin, 84, formerly of 522 Hendricks Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an illness at Countryside Place Nursing Center on Thursday, Jan. 11. She was born on Dec. 27, 1916 in Hyannis, Mass.

On Oct. 9, 1948, she married Earl Max Martin. He died on Nov. 28, 1994. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Fran. Mrs. Martin is survived by a daughter, Ruth Shultz of South Bend; a son, John Martin of Mishawaka; her sisters, Jimmy Waight of Teaticket, Mass. and Dottie Cahoon of Chatman, Mass.; two brothers, Ray Bismore and Joe Bismore, both of Seattle, Wash.; her grandchildren, Daniel Shultz, Dawn Wilson, Heather Martin, Heath Martin, Andrea Martin and Christopher Martin. Mrs. Martin was a member of First American Baptist Church, South Bend, and was a retired Bank Teller.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main St., Mishawaka where friends will be received from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
